NOTE:If this is your first time coming to the Asian Man newsletter and are wondering what the heck this newsletter is??? Well, it's just my place to rant about anything, so for real news, please email miya@asianmanrecords.com and just request to be added to the mailing list and you will be sent news that actually pertains to the bands we work with. Greetings!! It is now 2 and half weeks since I first discovered Friendster. Unfortunately(or fortunately)the excitement has dwindled. Most of the people I don't even know.. But when someone asks you to be their friend, how can you say no. That's just rude, so I say yes to everyone. Friendster is way to slow. I need fast, fast, fast connections. My guess is that they're getting so much traffic that the computer gods are freaking out and therefore the slow connections. Well people, I've never been computer saavy and I'm still as dumb as they get when it comes to the world of computers, but recently I've been getting into the internet more and more. There's some funny stuff out there. It can suck the life out of you and you end up spending hours in front of the computer. Well, here's the story of a genius little boy named Jason Thinh.. Jason Thinh plays guitar in SHORT ROUND. Do you know that band? Anyways, a quick overview about Jason...Jason lives at his parents house, Jason doesn't know how to drive, Jason likes to drink a lot, he likes pizza, and he likes girls. One night he tells me about hotornot.com and that he's been meeting random women on this site. Why I find it comedic that Jason hooks up with girls on the internet is beyond definition, but regardless he is such a funny boy and I must share his hotornot.com info.. Here is a link to his hotornot profile. http://meetme.hotornot.com/r/?emid=RZEUGR Check it out and ladies, get in touch with him if you want to meet a real man. As far as I know he's still single and he makes $7/hr working in the mall. A pretty nice catch if you ask me. Recently I've been toiling with the idea of moving asian man out of the garage and into a real office. I asked for feedback to see what people thought of this idea. Basically I feel like the label is something more than just some corporate F#*K who doesn't care about the consumer. I truly respect everyone input and wanted to share this idea with everyone. Hence, the feedback was extremely helpful. Basically, there's been a lot of debate in my mind on the pros and cons of moving out of this garage. I'll divide this into two parts-PROS and CONS of the Garage. THE CONS:No space, we're running out of room, we can only have one phone line, it gets extremely cold, it gets extremely hot, but the most important thing is the space issue. THE PROS:No rent, my mom makes me food everyday, I can take a nap at any time, and no rent!! Ok, here's the situation, most people are extremely supportive of whatever I choose to do. Which for me, was such a neat thing to hear. The big issue is that getting a new space means more costs, which could result in an increase in prices. I think that was the biggest concern of people. Would costs go up? At this point I'm still undecided, but am leaning towards staying in the garage. I ask myself "How are things?" "Am I happy with what I'm doing?" and the answer is a unanimously loud YES! Why change? But this space issue is really the main factor. It's crippling at times. Hence I haven't decided yet 100% what I'm going to do. But thought I should address the issue after asking for feedback on the last newsletter. Again I appreciate the support I get from the label and truly hope that people understand the vision of asian man records. Well, that's it for now. I'm listening to tons of MU330 right now. As I leave for Japan in one week to play saxaphone for them. Wish me luck. Be safe and take care of each other. Peace always, Mike Park |
