I am sitting in a hotel room in Ogden, Utah. I've been on tour for over a month and I finally have a day off to write down some thoughts. First of all, it's been a trying two weeks for me personally. Trying to make sense of what's been going on in our country isn't a simple thing to do. And being on the road instead of with my family makes it twice as hard to deal with. There are no simple solutions. The thought of war terrifies me and the continued loss of human life will be extremely hard to accept. So many things in life seem so trivial at this point. Being on a tour called Plea For Peace while the world is engaging in a war that is inevitable seems ridiculous. But at the same time it seems that much more important. Being on tour has given me a chance to talk to different people every night about anything and everything. Sometimes the conversations bring hope while other times I crawl back in a dizzying spiral of dismay. I don't really know what I'm trying to say. I just feel that we need to unite as a community. Not just as punks, but as a human race. I am saddened to hear about the hate crimes towards people of middle eastern decent. I think of the Japanese Americans and the internment camps of the 1940's. Racist actions can only bring our nation down. Sigh.......Oh boy....I just wanted to express myself and say thanks to everyone who has supported the actions of Plea For Peace.
Peace always, Mike Park
