THE FAIRLANES "The Monumento EP" CDep

2001 was a monumental year for Denver's THE FAIRLANES: They quit their full-time jobs, (Electrical Engineer, Chemical Engineer, and Network Administrator), wrote and recorded Welcome to Nowhere (Suburban Home Records), bought an R.V. and hit the road. In 2001, THE FAIRLANES played over 120 shows, including a five-week-long tour in Europe. 2002 will prove to be an even bigger year for THE FAIRLANES. Five brand new songs will comprise the Monumento EP. If looking for a description, let's just call it smart pop. Lyrically, the band has expanded their words to reflect their lives, tackling subjects other than the standard fare of a genre that is saturated with songs about relationships, breaking-up, and girls. Falling somewhere between emotions and personal politics, the album deals with becoming disconnected in early 20s, life, and searching out happiness on your own terms.
