ASIAN MAN RECORDS 15 YEAR ANNIVERSARY(if you have questions about anything.. feel free to email me at amr15@asianmanrecords.com Friends, here's a quick rundown of stuff going on and some information that might come in handy. I've started a facebook.com/asianman15year as a way for people from out of town to start communicating with others who are attending the shows. Basically a forum of sorts for people to ask questions and get help from locals, etc.. WHY AREN'T YOU DOING THESE SHOWS AT A BIG VENUE?I've gotten this question a whole bunch, so I thought I'd share my thoughts. The whole purpose of this celebration was to keep it low key and to celebrate without the hoopla of sponsorship, advertising, etc.. I really wanted to do things at places that I personally frequent for shows. I don't know about you, but I can't stand going to big spaces to see a show. Having to deal with big dudes in SECURITY jackets doing pat downs, over priced drinks, overpriced merchandise due to the fact that they will take 25% of your merch.. , no cameras, etc.. We are doing one show at SLIM'S for SLAPSTICK, which holds 650 people. This is way bigger of a place than I hoped for, but to get SLAPSTICK to reunite they wanted to accommodate more people as this would be the only time they'd ever play again. At least in their words.TICKETS? Unfortunately most of the tickets to the shows are sold out. Below(SHOW INFO), you can find the schedule of bands playing and information on whether or not there are tickets remaining. If you have bought tickets to either the SLIM'S show or any of thee PARKSIDE shows and never heard back from me confirming your tickets, then please email me to make sure you have tickets. LODGING?Staying in San Francisco is unfortunately pretty darn expensive, so one suggestion is to get a hotel in South San Francisco or by the San Francisco Airport(SFO). You can find hotels like Travelodge, Comfort and Best Western which are 2 star hotels for like $50 or less. just go to hotwire.com and do a search and you'll be surprised how cheap it can be. Another trick would be to go to priceline.com and bid $5 cheaper on the hotwire prices and I bet you'll get it. TRANSPORTATION?It's only a 15 minute drive to the Bottom of the Hill and thee Parkside from South San Francisco, so getting a rental car is a good idea. Especially if you can share with others. This will be a cheap alternative to public transportation(which I always support), but in this case the train and busses will be done by the time the shows are over. And car rentals are dirt cheap right now through hotwire and priceline. But if you are staying in the actual city, then MUNI is the name of the bus system in SF and hopefully you can navigate through their website sfmta.com to find the proper buses. Of you course you can take a TAXI, but it's expensive. PARKING?San Francisco sucks for parking, BUT both the BOTTOM OF THE HILL and thee PARKSIDE rule...!!!! Lots of parking within 1-4 blocks of the club. FOOD?Both Bottom of the Hill and Thee Parkside have kitchens with some tasty reasonably priced eats, so we encourage you to eat there. If you're looking for something before or after there are some ok places around the club. For me San Francisco is all about the Taqueria's and the extreme affordability and the fact that they can please both meat and non-meat eaters. Here's my top 3 favorite places in SF. 1. EL FAROLITO 2. CANCUN (can't find a proper website for them, but super cheap. $5 veggie burrito with chips and you are full) 3. TAQUERIA SAN JOSE (this place for tacos only. The Burritos are good, but try the others first) SHOW INFO JUNE 15th(SOLD OUT) DOORS: 7:30 PM, SHOW: 8:30 PM SLAPSTICK(from Chicago, IL, featuring all original members) MU330(from St. Louis, MO featuring Crab Rangoon, S/T, ULTRA PANIC lineup) THE CHINKEES(from San Jose, CA) @SLIM'S-SAN FRANCISCO, CA JUNE 16th(SOLD OUT) DOORS: 7:30 PM, SHOW: 8:30 PM ALKALINE TRIO(from Chicago, IL) THE SAINTE CATHERINES(from Montreal, QC) THE HOT TODDIES(from Oakland, CA) KEPI GHOULIE(from Sacramneto, CA. playing with a full band) THE ATOM AGE(from Oakland, CA) @BOTTOM OF THE HILL-SAN FRANCISCO, CA JUNE 16th(SOLD OUT) DOORS: 8:00 PM, SHOW: 8:45 PM SLOW GHERKIN(From Santa Cruz, CA featuring all original members) BUCK-O-NINE(from San Diego, CA) UNSTEADY(from San Diego, CA) MONKEY(from San Jose, CA) @THEE PARKSIDE-SAN FRANCISCO, CA (A small number of tickets will be sold at the door) JUNE 17th(SOLD OUT) DOORS: 7:30 PM, SHOW: 8:30 PM ANDREW JACKSON JIHAD(from Phoenix, AZ) SHINOBU(from San Jose, CA featuring all original members) O PIONEERS!!!(from, Houston, TX) THE WILD(from Atlanta, GA) PTERADON(from San Jose, CA) @BOTTOM OF THE HILL-SAN FRANCISCO, CA June 17th(tickets still available) DOORS: 9:00 PM, SHOW: 9:30 PM THE EMERGENCY ROOM(Dan Andriano from ALKALINE TRIO) DAN POTTHAST(from St. Louis, MO) RATASUCIA(from Chicago, IL featuring Dan Hanaway, Chris Carr from HONOR SYSTEM, the BROADWAYS, SLAPSTICK) BAGHEERA(from ST.
